DEMOS
at
"Circus to Save Lives"
this weekend at
The Family Arena in St. Charles
These are the times when the actual shows begin.
The demos will start one hour prior to the start of the shows.
Thursday, Nov. 15 - 10:00 am and 7:00 pm
Friday, Nov. 16 - 10:00 am and 7:00 pm
Saturday, Nov. 17 - 10:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 7:00 pm
Sunday, Nov. 18 - 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm
There will be someone protesting at every single show...if you can join in, please do so. We always need help holding the large banners. Due to the distance we must maintain from the arena, it's important to use these big signs.
This three-ring circus comes from Las Vegas and is traveling throughout North America. It is a benefit for the Siteman Cancer Center at St. Peters Barnes-Jewish Hospital, reportedly to raise funds to help fight against cancer and to increase cancer awareness for children. (We're not sure if it will raise money to fund animal research or if it goes directly toward treating cancer patients.)
Before the show, during the intermission, and after the show children may ride an elephant, a pony, or choose from any of the other attractions that will be offered. There will also be a free petting zoo. As you know, not only is riding on an elephant's back extremely dangerous, it's only possible due to the prolonged abuse inflicted upon the elephants to make them obedient and submissive.
This show is just as bad as Ringling, if not worse, because of the rides.
We
need to be there to let them know this is not acceptable.
